This set of portraits was inspired by an online photography site called Flickr — 100 Strangers. Almost all of the subjects were unknown to me until minutes before the photographs were taken. I explained the project briefly with no other preparation and I hoped to capture the essence of their personality. Establishing comfort and trust is essential. It is a learning process for me, both technically and socially, hopefully expanding my comfort zone. No altering of the photos was made other than minor exposure, color and contrast corrections.
